The Swiss SOS is a nationwide, multicenter clinical study on patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (aSAH).

It was initialized in 2008, and has evolved to be a prospective, institutional-review-board approved continuous database, currently containing anonymous information on about 2000 patients.

The aims of the Swiss SOS are
  • to serve as a tool for disease monitoring in Switzerland
  • to measure and control the quality of aSAH treatment in Switzerland
  • to foster clinical research and collaboration between eight Swiss neurovascular centres
  • to guide the future direction of aSAH management in Switzerland
